An early 20th-century transit-oriented suburb. Brick colonials, Capes, modest apartment complexes. Hylan Boulevard murals. We stock for the trades that keep it going.

Grant City: built around the station. — illustration

Grant City was planned around the SIR station as an early 20th-century transit-oriented suburb. That history shows up in the layout: a walkable grid of brick colonials and Cape Cod houses with neat front lawns and mature street trees. Small two-, three-, and four-story brick apartment buildings on the corners. The Grant City SIR station with its low-slung platforms anchoring the center. Hylan Boulevard a wider auto-oriented strip with one-story retail, parking, and the murals that the neighborhood put up to humanize the corridor.

We're 20 to 25 minutes east-southeast via the SI Expressway → Hylan. Standard delivery zone — order by 4 PM, drop at the trailer by 7 AM.

Brick-colonial repair is the trade that defines residential Grant City. Masonry pointing, brick veneer repair, chimney work, lintel replacement. We stock the masons' kit deep — Carhartt double-front canvas pants, Wolverine waterproofs, Cougar Paws for the parapet work, hi-vis class 2 for any sidewalk-shed setup.

Apartment-building maintenance crews on the corner walk-ups buy the daily kit. Carhartt rugged flex dungarees, Klein and Knipex pliers at the counter, cut gloves and nitrile by the case, the Bosch oscillating tools that handle most of the demo. The supers walking in for replacement gloves on a Tuesday morning know us.

Hylan Boulevard commercial growth — the supermarket pads, the bank branches, the service businesses — pulls steady fit-out work. Thorogood softer-toes for the carpentry, Labo slip-resistants for any food-service install, the Knipex and Wera at the counter. Hi-vis class 2 in the parking-lot work, class 3 if the staging is in the traffic lane.

Cape Cod remodel work in the residential blocks pulls the small remodelers. Wolverine Floorhand boots, Carhartt rugged flex dungarees, knee pads, the daily-driver list. Roofers on the older Capes want Cougar Paws and the Carhartt FR henley if there's any solar going on the new install.

Grant City contractors hit fleet-account volume fast on the multi-property maintenance contracts. Five items per order minimum, net-30 terms, volume pricing. Delivery to the property manager's office or the truck.

Custom embroidery on polos, softshells, and beanies — what the neighborhood remodelers and apartment supers want. Screen-print on hi-vis tees for the bigger Hylan crews. In-house, no minimums.
