Where to find CAT (Caterpillar) workwear in Staten Island — illustration

CAT workwear in Staten Island is at Quazi Supply, 519 Port Richmond Avenue, 10302. Open seven days, 11 to 8. We stock the licensed Caterpillar workwear and footwear line — Second Shift and Threshold are the boot regulars on the floor, plus a rotation of the apparel side (jackets, henleys, hi-vis) when they hit the right price.

Worth being clear about what this brand actually is. CAT (Caterpillar) workwear is licensed by the same Caterpillar that makes the yellow excavators, but the boots and apparel are made under license — the manufacturing is done by Wolverine World Wide and contracted partners. So 'CAT' is not the same supply chain as a Wolverine work boot but it shares a lot of factories and a lot of the same R&D. The branding is the difference, and for a lot of guys the branding is a real signal — if you operate Cat equipment all day, you wear Cat boots.

The Second Shift is the volume seller. 6-inch lace, steel toe, oil-resistant outsole, EH-rated. It's a workhorse boot at a workhorse price — usually $110 to $140 in our shop. Built for the operator who's in and out of the cab all day, the laborer who needs a simple steel-toe that takes abuse, and the entry-level apprentice who needs his first pair of safety boots and doesn't want to spend Red Wing money.

The Threshold is the slightly more dressed-up step up. Waterproof, soft-toe options, 6-inch, with a more refined leather upper. Diesel mechanics and shop guys who don't need a steel toe but want a real boot ask for it. The Threshold WP is the rainy-day version that holds up in the puddles after a job site finishes a concrete pour.

"If you spend ten hours in a 320 excavator, you want the same logo on your foot. We get it."

Fit reality: CAT runs about half a size large in the Second Shift — order down a half if you're between sizes, true to size if you wear thick socks. The Threshold runs true. The toe box on the Second Shift is roomier than a Red Wing King Toe but tighter than a Timberland Pit Boss. Insole is replaceable; if you have any arch issue, swap in a Powerstep or a Superfeet on day one.

On the apparel side we carry the CAT canvas work pant, the heavy-duty hooded sweatshirt with the Cat logo, and seasonal hi-vis pieces. The apparel line isn't as deep as the boot line — we don't try to compete with the Carhartt wall on workwear. CAT is here because operators ask for it.

Trades that buy CAT by name: heavy-equipment operators (the brand affinity is real — if you spend ten hours in a 320 excavator you want the same logo on your foot), demolition crews, civil contractors on excavation work, drivers and yard guys at Mariners Harbor, and a contingent of guys who just like the brand and the branding.

Pricing is part of the appeal. CAT sits between Rockrooster and Timberland Pro — not the cheapest, not the most expensive, with real licensing behind the brand and a Wolverine factory on the build side. Foremen outfitting a crew of operators who all want CAT can hit our fleet pricing on five-plus pairs and get net-30 terms on the order.

Walk in. 519 Port Richmond, between Heberton and Park. If you're new to CAT and trying to figure out whether the Second Shift is right for you, we'll put it next to a Pit Boss and a Wolverine Floorhand and let you compare on the rug. Most operators know within a minute which one fits.

Want to talk it over? Come in.
